Christmas 2007

One of the things that Tish and I liked about G being born in Febuary was that he would be old enough to enjoy Christmas. He celebrated his first Christmas last week. Of course he is too young to "get" Christmas, but he sure "got" the concept of presents and new toys!

At the 11th hour, Tish and I decided that it was best to exchange gifts for each other on Christmas Eve. We figured that we would be so focused on G's Christmas experience on Christmas Day that we would not be able to appreciate our gifts as much. Tish got me a bunch of thoughtful gifts this year. Her gifts often has a way to make someone feel warm (literally too!). We gave G's Christmas day a lot thought and decided that we should do his presents opening in "shifts". Round one - right after first bottle, before dozing off. Round two - after first nap; Round three - After his lunch; Round four - Mimi coming over and her presents for him. Overall it worked out pretty well. I don't think Tish and I have ever experienced an 8-hour presents opening before... :-) It was fun to watch him having fun opening gifts though. Tish and I have been joking for a while, that Grayson's gifts are also gifts to us... we were so tired giving him the same toys, listen to the same kid songs! We could tell that he was getting tired of them too. We also bought him some clothing for Christmas. However, we opened most of them before Christmas, afraid that he might not fit in them for long. He is a growing boy!

G got lots of cool gifts. I will try to list a few...

Fisher Price Little Super Sing-along Stage <- he loves that thing! A cool colorful top that spins and make cool sound

A new handheld baby radio that plays classical music <- needed a new one!

Elmo Guitar <- he is jamming now! Elmo camera <- he just loves listening to Elmo's voice! Seasome Stree Remote <- he likes to play with remotes so much we got his own for him! V-tech driving games <- he will not lay off the horn!

Play cube with all kind of fun finger activites <- not just for doctors' office!

Leap Frog Alphabet bus

and cool books!

Anyway, G's Christmas was a good one. It is amazing how different (in a good way) now is.

We are looking forward to next year, explaining Christmas/Santa to him and the whole nine yards!
