ICE!

First, let me note that Grayson is saying so many new words now that it is IMPOSSIBLE for us to mention them all in our blog. There's "stir", "wet", "sock", "hoorah", "cool", etc. Gosh, SO many! Our boy is a little parrot! :)

But one of his favorite new words is "ice". He loves ice! And he thinks ice is FUNNY! :) When anyone gets ice from the refrigerator door, he laughs! He doesn't do a little ha-ha laugh. With his mouth wide open, he does this LOUD, deep gutsy laugh that sounds fake!

I believe Grayson could make any stone faced person smile if they heard/saw him laughing at ice the way he does! It is hilarious! :) We hear him do it EVERY time we get ice (at least 2-3 times a day), and we still think it's funny! :)

Gray just thinks ice is so cool! He often reaches up on the counter, grabs one of his cups, walks to the fridge, sets it on the ice maker ledge, and says, "Ice"....and he doesn't stop saying it until you get him some ice!

I put it on the crushed ice setting, fill his little cup with about an inch of ice, and hand it to him. You'd think I was handing him a cup of crushed GOLD. :) He walks around with it, shakes it, and turns the cup up to eat a few pieces every now and then.

For the most part, he does really well with a cup of ice. He is usually very careful with it (because he treasures it so much). And when he does spill some, it is most often because he gets so excited he shakes the cup too hard. ;)

Between us having to get ice for our drinks, ice for G to carry around, and G's ocassional spills, our floor can get quite slippery at times! Also the floors aren't easy to keep clean. One melted ice chip is great at getting any dirt off the bottom of shoes.

About how G says, "ice"...It is hard to explain, but I want to try. He says it in a real deep voice. It sounds like the word is coming from his chest rather than his mouth. Just like with anything else he says, it's precious. Because he loves ice so much and always requests it, we hear the word "ice" many, many times a day. Actually, we hear it many, many times from his first request until we get the cup, fill it, and put it in his hands! ;)
