February 18th was Chinese New Years. Since Grayson is only 10 days old, we decide not to go out anywhere to celebrate nor to cook a big elobrate meal. Instead, we got take out from one of our fav. restaurants - Shanghai. We attempted to get green onion pancakes (sold out), ordered 2 orders of pork sticky buns, Shaghai Cho Chow (thick noodles stir fried), and sweet & sour pork. They were all delicious. New years also means a new outfit and "Lay-Se" (red envolope) for the little one. Since Grayson is a newborn, everything he has pretty much are new. But we selected one that has a pig on it (the pink spot on his chest area), thinking that it'd be fitting for the year of Boar.
Tish and I debated on how much to put in his red envolope. The typical thing to do would be something like a one dollar bill since he doesn't know the meaning of money yet. But Tish came up with this idea: since Gray was 9 days old when we gave this to him, we gave him a one-dollar bill for each of those days. We also included the following as a part it...

It is the brand new one dollar golden coin just released by U.S. Treasury Dept. We thought this would act as a symbol of a good 10th day of life (and many more after) for him.
