Yesterday afternoon, before it got dark, we took Grayson on a short stroll around the block. It was a little warm but not too bad. Once we started walking, we felt a breeze. Gray propped his feet up on the stroller tray and enjoyed his ride. Before coming back home, we stopped at our two neighbors' houses to say hello. They had not seen him in a few months.
First, we stopped at Virginia and Cecil's house. When I knocked, Virginia came to the door. Once she saw we had Grayson, she got super excited. She was just fussing being in her pajamas. That visit went well. It was short though because he started getting a little fussy. I think it was because it was a little warm outside. Also, Virginia is very sweet but a little scary looking. :)
Then, it was off to see our dear old neighbor, Mrs. Jean and her son, Jim. Jim was glad to see us. He gave Grayson some compliments and told us some specials the local grocery store is running. Then, he went about his business.
Now, Mrs. Jean could not get enough of Grayson! She kept talking about how perfect, beautiful, wonderful, lovely, sweet, adorable, handsome, precious, etc he is! Because she is pretty animated, Grayson wouldn't take his eyes off of her. For the longest time, he watched her with his serious face. Then his seriousness turned into smiles. Boy, she loved that! As we were walking off, she thanked us for being her neighbors and for bringing Grayson over to see her. How sweet is that, huh? :) The last thing she said was, "Oh, he's just wonderful. He's a little love child".
Now I know exactly what she meant, that he's a child born of such a beautiful love. She is always telling us we're a lovely couple, beautiful in love, etc. But if you're wondering what the definition of a 'love child' is, here it is: a synonym for "illegitimate child", meaning a child born out of wedlock. I must laugh at Mrs. Jean! She is such a hoot! And yes, she's the same lady that says Ray and I should be models! ;)
