scribble scribble scribble

Here lately, Gray has shown a stronger interest than ever in writing instruments (pens, pencils, highlighters, markers, etc). We don't let him play with pencils or anything that could cause him major harm. However, we do let him play with pens (specifically the clicker kind), highlighters, and even markers. We just watch him VERY closely.
.
Once our little artist got his hands on a pencil and turned the top of our nightstand into his very own easel. No big deal - we just erased his marks.
.
Usually, he doesn't try to get the cap off pens and markers. He's happy just holding them and pretending to write with them. But we need to watch him because for some strange reason, he's really taken a liking of pretending to write/draw in the books we check out from the library! :)
.
Last week, Grayson was riding in the shopping cart at Walmart. He was playing with a pen he got out of my purse. I saw he got the cap off. I made sure he didn't eat it, mark on himself, or anything. All he wanted to do was draw on the Walmart bag. See? :)
